Lord's Cricket Ground and the MCC have a new sponsor!

It is no secret that we are fortunate enough to be working with Oris, who have been a favourite brand of mine for some years now. This article is relatively old news now, and I have known about it for a few weeks, but it is incredibly exciting and groundbreaking none the less.

The infamous Lords Cricket Ground...

For those of you who know me will know that I love cricket, I am what is called a 'cricket badger' so when my good friend Andrew who is the Oris PR manager, told me that Oris were being announced as the first official timing partner of the MCC and Lords Cricket Ground, I was rather excited...

If this isn't an incentive to score a Lords 100 I don't know what is...

The partnership is a three year deal, which makes Oris the first official watch partner in the world-famous clubs 230 year history. The Oris branding will feature on the clocktower which sits proudly on the Mount stand as well as on the grounds scoreboard. An Oris watch will also be awarded to players whose names are added to the Lord's Honours Board for scoring of a century (100 runs) or taking either 5 wickets in an innings or 10 wickets in a match across all international Tests and Limited Overs matches played at the legendary ground. For context, the Honours Boards at Lords are the pinnacle of cricket, featuring the names of the true legends of the game. The likes of our very own James Anderson, as well as names such as Sourav Ganguly, Graham Gooch and Anya Shrubsole all having their names imortalised on the boards.

This is an incredible partnership for two reasons. Not only as I mentioned, does it see the first watch partnership in the history of Lords and the MCC, but it also opens up Oris to a new stream of clients. A lot of you will share my love for Oris as a brand, but compared to the household names they tend to fall into the shadows through no fault of their own, and given the quality, diversity of watches and price point, I think is absolutely criminal.

This partnership combines two of my greatest passions in life, cricket and watches, and I cannot wait to see where this partnership takes the brand! So congratulations to Oris, and thank you to Lords Cricket Ground and the MCC for celebrating one of the best brands out there. If Oris need a middle order batsman who bowls a bit of off-spin, you know where to find me!
